When giving a gift for a newborn baby, it will make a difference whether the mom is a new mom with her firstborn or if the mom has existing children.

This is because mothers who are giving birth for the second, third or fourth time, will most likely have existing essentials her baby needs. For this reason, a lot of mothers who have already had children may not even hold a baby shower any more. If she decides to breastfeed, you can find her nipple protectors which will ensure a pain free breast feeding experience especially if the baby starts to develop teeth.

Baby gifts can also include blankets, sheets and mobiles which are pretty standard for baby showers. Many baby store selections these days also feature 'diaper cakes' which both the mother and the baby will be sure to appreciate.
